Like traditional metallic braces, Invisalign aligners will move your teeth through a controlled force. Invisalign controls the forces and timing of the pressure. During each stage, only certain teeth will be allowed to move. The dentist will be the one to map out your Invisalign treatment plan which is unique to each patient.
5. What are aligners made of?
Invisalign aligners are made of thermoplastic material, which is clear and very strong. The aligners will be custom made according to your treatment plan. No aligners are alike and the treatment plan will be unique for every patient.
6. How do I get Invisalign treatment started?
The first thing that you need to do is make an appointment with us at East Bentleigh Dental Group. After we determine your treatment plan, we can get you started with the treatment in straightening your teeth.
7. How long will the treatment take?
It will depend on your case. The treatment plan will normally take the same time as with traditional braces but is typically more comfortable during the treatment.
8. How do you clean your teeth with Invisalign?
As Invisalign aligners are removable, you can simply remove the plastic aligners and brush and floss your teeth normally. After brushing and flossing your teeth, you can replace the aligners. You don’t need to have special toothbrush or other special dental hygiene equipment.
9. Are there any food or beverages that I should avoid when I am getting treated with Invisalign?
No. You can eat anything you normally eat. As mentioned before, Invisalign is removable. Whenever you eat, you can simply remove the aligners.
